Our pigs love getting gently-used food donated to us!
- If your fruit trees are overproducing and you don't want the fruit rotting on the ground and attracting rats, consider donating that unused fruit.
- If it's time to clean out your refrigerator, some of that food might be still good for the pigs.
- If you run a food business and health codes require you to throw out otherwise good food, the pigs would love it.
Pigs are omnivores and crave variety in their diet. They show appreciation with little grunts as they discover new flavors. Donations of safe food can help keep their minds and digestive systems active.
Please keep their health and safety in mind. They cannot eat spicey food, and moldy food will make them sick. Old produce from the farmer's market is ideal. Just ask your favorite vendor for a box of food scraps for our pigs. It saves them from lugging unsellable food back to their farm.
